Consulting is our main business segment. Customers seldom has constant need of IT Architects or project managers. The assignments are often temporary but the customer wants knowledge, competence, good references and long experience. It's then better to hire consultants on demand.

IT Architechture and system engineering
We develop software products or provide software engineering from an discovery phase until deployment phase. In our view this mean activitities such as analyze , design and implementatioon. If you want to know more, click here ...
We deliver analyze reports with goal- or stakeholder analysis and requirements analysis with a rough sketch of solution architecture.
We deliver design as Models (Data Models, architechtures, interface designs, organisation charts and test design models. We elaborate specifications by refining the models.
We implement by programming (source code), test cases and GUI design/User Interfaces.
The time needed for each activity depends often on which project methodology used. (SCRUM, RUP, XP, LEAN). The activitiy may be repeated in iterative development processes (RUP) or be made during an intensive agile period (SCRUM).
The IT architechture is an investment and the technical liftetime is based on how sustainable and modifiable the architecture is. The normal lifetime today is 2-3 years.
Some customers update their IT architecture on 2-3 years interval (when preconditions is changed) and some customers invest in long-term systems. In both cases a carefull consequence analysis shall be a part of the strategy.

Products or services that not reach the market will bind investment capital. There will be no ROI (Return On Investment).
Today, sales and fast development cycles have a big focus. To get fast market feedback and get revenues. The revenues may be reinvested in new functions.
If the customer has such need, the agile processes SCRUM or LEAN may be preferrable. Full functionality and adaption to changed requirements may then be taken care of. This is best done with a focused mindset, fixed time periods (aka. Sprint) and a objective to minimize wasted time.
Some customers will not allow errors or mistakes to happen. For example nuclear power plants. A nuclear power plant uses a quality assurance waterfall process. In a waterfall process the analyzing step is completely executed before the design processes starts. The result will be long duration periods before the product/service will be available. On the other hand, there is rarely flaws or bugs. A good process method for this is RUP (Rational Unified Process)
Counseling
The development is moving fast and we also have trouble to follow the trends. Is it worth the effort to follow the trends or is it better to create partnerships with suppliers?
Technological strategies may be formultated. Strategies may then be decomposed int tactical activity plans and operational goals. We have long experience in producing strategies and be counselling advisors to corporate managements or staffs..
