GOOD ADVICES - BUT COME WITH A LOW PRICE
We may be contracted as counseling consultants. We give advices prior to stategic, tactical and operational decisions, either to a line organisation or to a project organisation.
Our advices:
- create an holitic view of alternatives
- give consequenses and causes
- list arguments and rationales
- are creadible
- are clear
We establish our advices by collecting facts (preconditions, visions, objectives, requirements) and analysis (trends, goals, business environment, current state etc.).
We present our advices in easy accessible and educational way.
We give advices on the decision process and which decision traps there may be.
We manage decisions in different ways but it's important to later get a backtrace to the
rationales of the decisions. Decisions made without arguments tend to be short lived. Read more about decision traps and
decision processes...
We are all overconfident on our ability to make correct decisions but also our capability to keep all information in our mind. Our brain has two systems for decision making; a fast (system 1) and a slow (system 2). If the fast impulsive system dominates, the consequences are:
- blindness of decision criterias and which they are
- overconfidence on our own judgement ability
- shortcut solutions
- dedication to group thinking
- no intention to evaluate the decision process
